Dog training is only business here at Tucson K-9 Learning Center. Our owner, Steve Reaves, is a certified Master Dog Trainer and a 2010 graduate of National K-9 School for Dog Trainers in Columbus, Ohio.

There, he was certified to train dogs in Basic Obedience, Puppy Development, Scent Detection, Service Dog Training, Soft-mouth retrieval, Search and Rescue and personal Protection.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our dog training philosophy is one of patience, love and respect.  Every dog is an individual.  They have their qualities and behavior issues, their quirks and idiosyncrasies, and they all want to be loved.

OUR METHOD

Our method of dog training closely follows the military dog training done at Lackland Air Force base.  We do not use treats or clickers.  Our reward sytem is physical and verbal praise, not food.

Each dog is trained for 20 minutes out of every hour.  The day starts at 6 am and ends at 9 pm.  They have three 30-minute supervised play sessions per day.

OUR FACILITY

We are located on a 5-acre ranch in Southwest Tucson.  Our kennel is small, heated, air-conditioned and monitored with cameras and environmental sensors.  We train a maximum of 8 dogs at a time.
